The Office of Code Enforcement is responsible for maintaining and enforcing the Town of Smithfield’s Land Use Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Commercial/Industrial Ordinance and other relevant ordinances, in addition to State law, and assisting current and prospective landowners, developers, and businesses with the local permitting process and site design review. The office issues Building Permits and supports the Planning Board when a project requires review. Contact the Office of Code Enforcement if you have any questions related to construction or land development.

Andy is the town’s LPI and enforces the state plumbing code.
Septic Design Forms can be obtained from a Soils Engineer and must be submitted in triplicate to the LPI prior to construction.
